Thermometer
Why does my business need a thermometer?
For the foreseeable future, we all need to do our part to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. It is part of our collective responsibility to ensure that our staff and clients reduce the risk in the workplace. That includes screening to ensure that if anyone has a fever, they should not be allowed in the workplace.
A non-invasive way to do that is by using a forehead thermometer which does not make contact with the person being screened. These devices are easy to use and the digital display makes them easy to read.
How is the thermometer powered?
Most handheld digital thermometers are powered by batteries. This makes them extremely portable and easy to use around the workplace. Keeping a spare set of batteries is also advisable. It is, however, a good idea to screen staff when they enter the building. During the course of the day, staff can again be screened at their work stations so as to minimize disruption to the workflow.
What is regarded as a normal body temperature?
Normal body temperature is generally between 36.5 degrees and 37.5 degrees Celcius. A temperature above 37.5 degrees Celcius is a good indication that your body may be fighting an infection and medical advice should be sought. Remember, the infrared thermometer you use in the workplace is there to alert you to possible danger and is not designed to replace sound medical advice. It is just one of the tools at our disposal to help us reduce the risk of spreading this virus.
