A heavyweight golf shirt is generally made from a fabric of 220 grams per square meter, or more.
The 260g Barron Pique Knit Golfer (LAS-260B) is made from a 260-gram fabric so that puts it at the upper end of heavyweight golf shirts.
So why a heavyweight? Well, because there are some working environments where a heavyweight fabric is more suitable.
Obviously the heavier weight will be warmer which makes it great for working in cooler places.
The 260g fabric is much thicker and can withstand a lot more wear in a rough environment.
It can withstand harsh washing conditions because the fabric is much thicker.
